How Can You Enjoy a Flu-Free Winter?

It is predicted that flu virus and Corona virus may spread rapidly this winter.

Are you looking for some habits that can help you stay healthy and active during the cold and flu season?

  • “By the end of October if you have still not taken your flu shots, than you are already late.”
  • Why flu shots are so important this season?

Symptoms of flu and Covid-19 are similar. They cannot be simply differentiated. If you get flu shots, it will be easier for your doctor to find if you have the flu or Covid.

Luckily, however, you do not have to catch the flu this season! HOW? With a strong immune system, your body can put down nearly anything, so we are going to look deep into immune system.

Ponder along; implement these suggestions, and all winter long, you’ll be flu-free and healthier than ever!

Practice good hygiene regimen:

  • Take shower regularly
  • Keep your towel, brush and drinking glass separate to avoid germs sharing.
  • Wash your hands as much as you can stand, and then some more — especially after meeting someone who’s sick. To completely get rid of viruses, you need to scrub hard for 20 seconds or more.
  • Wash your hands before cooking and eating and after bath.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or your elbow to avoid germ spread.
  • Must take alcohol based hand sanitizer for on-the-go purpose

Avoid getting close to people who are sick:

  • Do not shake your hand with them.
  • Wear your mask all the time while visiting patients
  • Avoid touching your hands to nose, eyes or mouth after paying visit to patient. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his face.

Keep your house clean and disinfected:

  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces like switch boards and door knobs especially when someone is ill.

Get plenty of sleep:

  • During sleep, our body repair, heal, fight off infection, detoxify, and consolidate information, and so much more, so it is essential to get enough sleep. Most research suggests that anything less than 7-9 hours of sleep is considered deprivation for an adult. 7-9 hours of sleep is the suggested, optimal amount for an adult.

Move your body a little bit more:

  • Keep yourself physically active. Some exercise helps to promote a strong immune system. So follow a regular exercise routine.
  • Walking also helps in it. It can help you more than keeping you fit and trim.

Get hold on yourself:

  • Stress suppresses the immune system’s ability to fight off external bodies. It disturbs digestion. Since the majority of our immune system is housed in the gut and stress hinders the proper functioning of our gut, our immunity suffers.
  • When we are under stress, we may turn to unhealthy habits to help us cope like smoking and drinking

Take plenty of water:

  • Keep yourself hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps your body in purification and flushing out toxins in body which may weaken your immune system.

Keep an eye on your Vitamins:

  • Take vitamin-C regularly to boost your immunity. It can be taken from citrus fruits that are common in winters. Hence reducing the risk of getting chronic diseases.
  • Multivitamin tablets are a good idea this season to maintain your health.
